About Sea Pines
Sea Pines Plantation was the first of the modern Hilton Head Island communities and served as the model for the other communities which were to follow. It is the largest of all the Hilton Head Island communities, and boasts two marinas, four miles of beaches, the Sea Pines Racquet Club—home to some of the best tennis training programs in the nation—and Harbour Town Golf Links, where you can play on the same course used by the pros during the PGA tour.
Sea Pines Plantation started in 1956 with a pioneering master plan created by its founder, Charles Fraser. Charles created an innovative model for local resort communities that has not only influenced the design of Hilton Head Island, but for resorts worldwide. Sea Pines spans over 5,200 acres and is one of the largest residential and resort plantations on Hilton Head Island. Best known for its wide, sandy beaches, Sea Pines has three championship golf courses that include the home of the PGA Tour’s annual Verizon Heritage, Harbour Town Golf Links. Nestled alongside the Harbour Town Golf Links is the Harbour Town Marina. This is home to the recognizable landmark red and white striped lighthouse. Built in 1969, the lighthouse aided boats traveling the Calibogue Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway. Today the lighthouse is open to the public and overlooks an extraordinary harbor filled with awe-inspiring yachts. Lining the marina are charming shops and restaurants. Sea Pines Plantation has a variety of homes, villas, and townhomes with a variety of views of golf courses, woods, lagoons and ocean front.
Seemingly endless amenities include the Sea Pines Racquet Club, South Beach Marina, 605 acres of forest preserve, miles of bike paths, Lawton Stables Equestrian Center, numerous pools and five miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches. This is the plantation for everyone to enjoy. Sea Pines is a true paradise for the occasional visitor or cherished permanent resident. TSG
About Hilton Head Island
Hilton Head Island is renowned for being one of the ultimate vacation spots for everyone who loves beaches, tennis, golfing, fishing, and a wide variety of water sports—not to mention world-class restaurants and masterful shopping. While this represents Hilton Head Island as a whole, there are actually many different Hilton Head Island communities which make up this whole. Whether you live on Hilton Head Island Island or are visiting as a guest, each Hilton Head Island community has something special to offer. You won’t find any street lights, buildings more than five stories tall, or neon signs on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, which includes 12 miles of unspoiled beaches, rolling golf greens and swaying palmetto trees. What you will find on your Hilton Head Island vacation is an eco-friendly paradise and a culture steeped in African-influenced Gullah history.
As the second biggest Barrier Island on the East Coast of the United States, Hilton Head Island has earned a much-deserved reputation as a haven for luxury vacations, but beneath the polished surface lie keys to the centuries-old Gullah culture. Gullah represents one of the oldest surviving cultures in the United States and Hilton Head Island features some of its most important landmarks.
Each of the many Hilton Head Island communities has something special to offer, and together they create the full Hilton Head Island Island experience.
