Forest Beach | Hilton Head Island

For the past 40+ years I've called Forest Beach home. I left here only once, to helm the sales team at the Greenbrier in West Virginia. Life was grand... but it wasn't enough to keep me from missing the comfort of being able to walk to the beach. Anchored by Hilton Head Island's finest beaches and benefiting from proximity to Coligny Plaza, Forest Beach has become synonymous with the good life. You'll feel at home here too.

Sincerely,

History

Forest Beach was created from the remnants of Charles Fraser’s split with the Hilton Head Company. Divided into North and South, Fred Hack controlled residential North Forest Beach, while Charles Fraser retained South Forest Beach.

After opening the William Hilton Inn in 1959, Charles Fraser presided over a 400% increase in property values during the mid-60’s to early 70’s. Coligny Plaza, which featured Hilton Head Island’s first grocery store and movie theater, anchored Forest Beach as the destination for visitors.

Since then, Forest Beach has continued to grow, with many of the older homes replaced by newer code-approved construction. Owing to the proximity to the beach and what most consider to be Hilton Head Island’s downtown, Forest Beach continues to attract visitors and residents from across the world.
