Forest Beach: The Forest Beach area of Hilton Head Island is a two and a half mile stretch of sandy beach, reaching from the Sea PinesResort ocean gate to the Crown Plaza Resort in Shipyard Plantation. Forest Beach is divided into two main sections; South Forest Beachis a one mile stretch from the Sea Pines's gate to Coligny Circle while North Forest Beachruns from Coligny Circle to the Crown Plaza Hotel. Sea Pines: This is the location of the very recognizable landmark, red and white striped lighthouse. Built in 1969, the lighthouse aided sailors traveling the Calibogue Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway.
